MusiCan was founded by Cornelius Grant. Cornelius is one of the original Temptations.
Throughout the course of his career he saw many young entertainers fall prey to drugs and alcohol. Many of them lost
their lives and he himself had issues in this area as well. At the peak of his career, there were no programs to keep
young entertainers from falling prey to drug and alcohol abuse and Cornelius always felt that, if there were, maybe many of
his friends and colleagues could have been saved. MusiCan is a non profit
organization dedicated to the education, prevention and treatment of alcohol and drug dependency. Cornelius raises funds
that cater to his clientele. Cornelius says that the youth are our next generation. We have done enough to mess
things up and we now need to help them be the best they can be by educating them on what is right. MusiCan uses Celebrities
who have been addicted to drugs and alcohol to speak out on their experiences and educate others to be watchful of the pitfalls.
MusiCan works with the director of Tarzana Treatment Center to develop appropriate education and treatment programs.
MusiCan will launch its plans for radio and TV in the near future. In addition to MusiCan, Cornelius founded WARM, a
one stop shop that helps young people interested in breaking into the entertainment industry.
Cornelius will appear as a keynote speaker at the Jim Cleamons Books and Basketball Camp and speak to the pitfalls of drugs
and alcohol. He is very excited to be working with SISF and being a part of their unique approach of reaching out and
educating our youth.
