As parents sometimes we think we fail because we don't know what to do to guide our children and keep them from getting hurt. We try to catch them so they don't fall but they don't always listen. We have a son who knew about God. We raised him in God's Word. He knew all the Bible stories but still couldn't seem to find a relationship with God. He had been saved many times in church, but it didn't seem as if he believed that he could go to heaven. I was so afraid of the way he was going and the friends he began to have. A lady from our church, Sister Sadie, told me to pray the blood of Jesus over him every night and just keep him in my prayers. I prayed night after night but things seemed as if they were just getting worse. I just kept on praying. To make a long story short we sent him to a boot camp for boys. It was the hardest thing to do and I thought he would hate me. When I visited him the coach said to him, "Do you think that this place has changed your life." He said "No, this place helped me get back on track educationally, but it was Jesus who changed my life." My son is now a certified EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) in the 11th grade in Nevada. He will be home soon and is now on the path to a better and happier future. Today I thank God for protecting my son. God had His hand on my son. Today my son looks to God for strength in all he does. The Bible says raise a child in the way he shall go and he will not depart from it. I still pray for my son as well as for my other children. Most of all , I know that God will see us through.
