God’s Hands on Us
Before Touch became reality, Connie approached me to come on board and be a part of the vision.  I was currently employed with a Christian Corp. as their Nursing Administrator.  At that time my job description involved writing the policies and incorporating the day to day functions of the patients and employees, and overseeing every aspect of their care.  Previous to that I was a Director of nurses, case manager for a large insurance company, nurse consultant, and held various positions in the hospital setting.  Connie came to my office and within a few short weeks I had decided that I really wanted to be in full time business for God.  My husband and I were in agreement.  I got under Connie's leadership and took the Stephen Ministry class.  I began home schooling my children again.  I got back to the basics of God first, family next, and servant-hood.  My children have been apart of the backpack ministry, and providing musical worship in various ways.  From the time they were born, (all 5 boys), my husband and I took in the homeless off the street by providing a stockpile of groceries and needs out of our garage.  We would even take our kids to hotels and places where the needy stayed.  We also have taken them to convalescent homes, Alzheimer centers, and places where most of our beloved people are lonely and forgotten.  I feel God can use each of our experiences, both past and present, to perform His work.  All through scripture, we can clearly see how sick and needy people were and how much Jesus desired that they be healed.  Sickness is not from God.  I believe God can and will provide a clinic through TOUCH, for the sick and the needy.  Most of those who live on the streets or in their cars are suffering from some form of sickness or ailment.  It is a basic necessity to have food and warmth and safety.  Often their health suffers from the elements and that becomes an ongoing chronic problem.  Along with providing medical care, we will need M.D.s, nurses, social workers and counselors, to complete the legal aspects and criteria for the patients needs and for monies available to be received.  There are grants and Med-cal systems available for the homeless.  However, we have created a very complicated system of health care in our country.  I would like to see TOUCH offer direction, case management, resources, support, and referrals, to aid in their health need issues.  Further, I believe that God will richly bless the needs of the homeless and sick by providing worship services through the music of my sons Nick and Cody.  Which brings me to my next point.
God has called me now to see the sick through their very own eyes by experiencing first hand what it means to be in the medical system for help.  Almost from the beginning, when I decided to come on board with touch, I have fought the battle of cancer.  I recognized the attack and count it all joy that my courage and strength comes from my Redeemer and King, Jesus Christ.  At every turn, God has given me miracle after miracle, and has provided strength to go to the next level in my walk with serving Him.  Even my children have been through their very own trials because of their willingness to say yes to God.  My oldest son Nick chose to go to Honduras as part of the team.  He decided to do that instead of sports.  He was brought up to varsity football and wrestling, as a 9th grader.  He is also a very gifted pitcher.  From the beginning of his obedience, he was found to have a 100% tear of his lunar ligament in his pitching arm.  He underwent a long reconstructive surgery after he returned from Honduras, to repair the tear.  He will be in rehab for a whole year.  However, not coincidentally, he remains able to play the drums, set, and sing and play his guitar.  So you can see, God has great fruit to grow in peoples lives.  However, the enemy, the wolf, knows this to be true as well, and he tries to destroy it because of the powerful way it will bring souls into the kingdom.
Please pray for the right medical staff, the direction of the Advisors and leaders, the hearts of the volunteers and vendors to give, and mostly for the ministry itself.  That it will be effective in helping the sick be made whole, in Jesus name.
Let me close by reading a portion of scripture from Matthew 11 regarding how Jesus felt when his best friend Lazarus became sick and died.  Beginning in verse 33, Mary said, "Jesus if you had been here then my brother would not have died."  Therefore when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who were with her weeping, He groaned in the Spirit and was sorely troubled.  And when Jesus saw where they had laid Lazarus, Jesus wept.  All said "see how He loved him."  Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"  Then they took the stone away and Jesus lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, "Father, I thank you that you hear me.  And I know that you always hear me, but because of you that are standing here, I say this that you would believe in Him who sent me."  He then cried with a loud voice. "Lazarus come forth."  And he who was dead came out, bound hand and foot.  And Jesus said to them, "Let Him go."  Then many of the Jews, who had come to Mary, and had seen the things that Jesus did, believed in Him.
II Timothy 1:9 Who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.  TOUCH will be Gods work to the sick, needy, and destitute.  Please pray for this ministry and for the part that God would have you be a part of.
I am now cancer free because of God.  My son Nick at such a young age is so willing to serve.  Alot of this physical attack on me was for my son Nick.  (“and Mary pondered all of these things in here heart - for her son Jesus”)   Thank you.
